I am newly Orthodox- or not even, really yet- and while the church has very clear ideas on certain things like gender, I find most writers and all of the leaders I have met are quite willing to step outside of rigid dogma to describe God. They are capable of metaphor, and of turning ideas around in their minds without being afraid to make mistakes. This is hugely different from my (protestant, pentecostal) upbringing. I love the Church because Mystery is key, not failure to understand.

Re-reading that it makes no sense, sorry about that. Nice to meet you here!tabithahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17088836007624150734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5919890518576088794.post-76887475180333959262009-09-13T12:30:59.052-07:002009-09-13T12:30:59.052-07:00I don't think Orthodox Churches are actually &...I don't think Orthodox Churches are actually "pro-women" although I wouldn't call them "anti-women." I think it was just a personal experience I had during the service.disseriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09083083839189709630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5919890518576088794.post-65790458247012730642009-09-13T11:39:59.523-07:002009-09-13T11:39:59.523-07:00Hmmm.....why were they so pro-women? But then again, I'm Roman Catholic.Staceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12583244163739237451noreply@blogger.com
